What is the PhantomMount V1?
The PhantomPlate V1 is a magnetic license plate mounting system that lets you quickly remove and reinstall your license plate without tools. It's designed for enthusiasts who want a cleaner look for photoshoots, car shows, track days, detailing sessions, and content creation.
Which vehicles does it fit?
The PhantomPlate V1 is designed for standard U.S. license plates (12" × 6"). Additional versions for motorcycles and European license plates are coming soon.
Is it legal to drive without a license plate?
License plate laws vary by state and country. Always ensure your vehicle complies with local laws before driving. The PhantomPlate V1 is intended to make removing and reinstalling your plate quick and convenient.
Installation
How is the PhantomPlate V1 installed?
The base attaches to your vehicle using high-strength automotive-grade 3M™ VHB adhesive. Once installed, your license plate magnetically attaches to the mount in seconds.
Do I need to drill into my vehicle?
No. The PhantomPlate V1 requires no drilling, cutting, or permanent modifications.
Can I remove the mount later?
Yes. Like other automotive VHB products, the mount can be removed with proper techniques such as heat and adhesive remover.
How long does installation take?
Most installations take less than 5 minutes.
Performance
How strong are the magnets?
The PhantomMount V1 uses dual N52 neodymium magnets with up to 30 lbs of combined static holding force, providing a secure attachment while remaining easy to remove when needed.
Will it stay attached at highway speeds?
Yes. The PhantomPlate V1 has been road-tested at highway speeds and is designed to remain securely attached during normal driving conditions when installed correctly.
Can the license plate fall off?
When properly installed on a clean surface and used as intended, the PhantomPlate V1 provides a secure hold. As with any automotive accessory, periodic inspection is recommended.
Is it weather resistant?
Yes. The PhantomPlate V1 is designed for year-round outdoor use and is resistant to rain, sun, heat, and normal road conditions.
Will the magnets rust?
No. We use corrosion-resistant N52 neodymium magnets designed for automotive environments.

What material is the mount made from?
The PhantomPlatet V1 is manufactured using premium engineering-grade PETG Plastic for strength, UV resistance, and long-term durability.
Will heat from the sun damage it?
No. The material is designed to withstand the temperatures commonly experienced on vehicles parked outdoors.
Is the adhesive waterproof?
Yes. Automotive-grade 3M™ VHB adhesive is designed to withstand rain, car washes, and outdoor exposure.

Can I use it for photoshoots?

Is it good for track days?
Yes. The PhantomPlate V1 allows you to quickly remove your license plate before heading onto the track and reinstall it afterward.
Is it safe for detailing?
Yes. Removing the plate makes it easier to polish, ceramic coat, wash, and detail areas that are normally hidden.
Can I take it through an automatic car wash?
We advise removing the license plate before entering an automatic car wash, especially those with heavy brushes. Touchless washes are generally not an issue.

How long does shipping take?
Orders are typically processed within 1–3 business days. Shipping times vary based on your location but products usually ship within 3 days.
